STANDARDS FOR ENTERING THE PROGRAM • Bachelor’s degree including 30 hrs. in a particular field or • Master’s degree including 12 hrs. in a particular field or • Doctor degree in a particular field • 2) Letters of recommendation • 3) Philosophy of Education (rubric) • 4) Letter of intent (rubric) • 5) Personal interview • 6) Copy of all transcripts.

  5. STANDARDS FOR EXITING THE PROGRAM • Have completed all coursework with at least a B in each course including the Field Experience • Portfolio • 3) Have taken and passed the tests: • NMTA Basic Skills • NMTA Competency • NMTA Content • Certificate

ELEMENTARY (K- 8) • ED 401- Foundations of education (3 crs) • ED 410 – Teaching and Diagnosis of Reading ( 3 crs) • ED 450 – Pedagogy and Learning ( 3 crs) • ED 460 – Reading and writing across the curriculum (3crs) • ED 493 – integrated Elementary classroom ( 2 crs) • ED 495 – Assessment and evaluation of student learning ( 3 crs) • ED 496 – Supervised Field Experience – Portfolio (1 cr) • ED496 L – Supervised Field experience – Lab (2 crs) • TOTAL = 20 hrs.
