By Sydnie. Anytime is a Good Time for Chocolate. Where it All Started. Chocolate all started as a bitter, powdered drink made by the Mayans. The knowledge of the drink spread to the Aztecs and then to the Spanish. Eventually chocolate became popular in all European countries.

  2. Where it All Started • Chocolate all started as a bitter, powdered drink made by the Mayans. • The knowledge of the drink spread to the Aztecs and then to the Spanish. • Eventually chocolate became popular in all European countries.

  3. The Road to Popularity • Chocolate houses were the place where the rich hung out to drink chocolate. • In 1730 a machine was made that could grind chocolate and make it cheaper. • In 1847 the first chocolate bar was made in England. John Cadbury opened his chocolate shop in 1824

  4. Now we can make chocolate cheaper for everyone! I made a chocolate machine! No, It’s too expensive. Hey wait up! Hey Mom, can we get some chocolate? Aww man! Awesome!

  5. CHOCOLATE WAS STILL BITTER!!

  8. Now… • Chocolate is used all of the time as a snack, or a gift. • Chocolate is part of many of our traditions.

  9. Halloween • One of the most famous holidays for chocolate is Halloween. • 109.6 million houses were predicted to give out candy. (Mostly chocolate of course!)

  10. Valentines Day • In 1995 35 million heart shaped boxes of chocolate were purchased.

  11. Other best-selling chocolate holidays areEasterandChristmas.

  12. Anytime, anywhere, people love chocolate. It will remain one of our favorite deserts forever…
