PROGRAMME SUMMARY The IIID Get Together held at Knowledge Centre on 6th January, 2006 Mr. Sumit Ray, The Chief of Retail Initiative, TATA Steel had given a presentation before the IIID members about ‘Steeljunction’ Retail Store. Mr. Ray told how the idea of launching the store (steeljunction) stuck in his mind and how did he plan to execute the idea. Mr. Avik Roy Chowdhury who is the maker of interior of Steeljunction stated how he executed the entire interior designing of steeljunction. He showed by his presentation that how he converted an empty space towards a beautiful and glamorous store. He also explained the reason behind selecting the colour of steeljunction. To explain color magic of steeljunction, he told that he have chosen the colour yellow because the colour of molten steel is yellow. Mr. Sumit Ray and Mr. Abhik Roy Chowdhury have stated various stories behind making of the steeljunction. The theme of the store is to increase the awareness of uses of steel in our society. Mr. Sumit Ray has taken an initiative to make people aware more of the importance of steel in our day to day life.
