  2. Has Anyone Ever Told You…? • That they were ashamed of you? • Pip in Great Expectations… • We embarrass members of our family, friends, etc. but shame is different. • Rom. 5:5; Heb. 2:11; 11:16 I Peter 4:4, 11, 16

  3. Don’t Be Ashamed… • Of your faith, belief. • “You think you’re the only ones going to heaven.” • No, God’s children are going to heaven. Are we one of the children? • Hold on to the truth – Matt. 7:21-23

  4. Don’t Be Ashamed… • Of our pattern of worship. • “Can’t you people afford a piano?” “Is no one here musically inclined?” • Lord’s Supper every Sunday? • Only one contribution a week? You can’t raise enough money that way. • “Where’s the fellowship hall?”

  5. Don’t Be Ashamed… • Of your brethren in Christ. • Some are gruff and short tempered. • Very opinionated and stubborn. Poor and ignorant. • Yes, but they love God and His church. • Rom. 16 – Naomi, Bro. Carter, Athel, Wayne B.

  6. Don’t Be Ashamed… • Of your hope of heaven. • I Peter 2:9-11 • Where is “home?” Heb. 11:16 • It’s not “pie in the sky”, if your faith is real – v. 1-6
