Flagship Initiative: Quick Response Training (QRT)
Quick Response Training Grants Qualifying Florida businesses must: • Produce an exportable good or service in a qualified targeted industry • Create new, full-time, high-quality jobs (115% of average county or state wage) • Require customized entry-level skills training which is not available at the local level
Quick Response Training Grants What makes QRT competitive • Company always selects the training provider • Company can design training plan • All customized skills-based training is allowed • Flexible, demand driven grant program • Opportunities for Consortium Grants
Quick Response Training Grants Performance-based reimbursable training expenses: • Instructors’/trainers’ salaries • Curriculum development • Textbooks/manuals (or the production of textbooks/manuals) National recognition: QRT was highlighted as one of the contributing factors to Florida’s No.1 ranking for workforce and job training programs in the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s 2011 Enterprising States Report.
QRT Success: July 2000-June 2013 **2010-2011 FETPIP data
QRT Process • Fiscal agent works with consortium lead to gather all company applications • Submitted to WFI • Application reviewed by WFI – staff recommendation approved by VP • Approval letter from President to company and supporting agencies • Three party contracts issued via fiscal agent • Customized reporting templates sent to fiscal agent for company reporting/reimbursements • Reimbursements begin approximately 3 months after approval date – monthly reports are required
