main purpose: interface for developers and users of EoS • Realization: http://compose.obspm.fr • online repository of tabulated EoS(supports HDF5 and plain format)- data format specifically developed to account for thermodynamic and microphysical quantities, as well as matter composition- format focuses on ability to extend format to not yet specified quantities→ easy to provide every calculated quantity • data sheet for every provided EoS- describes available quantities, described particles, and basic relevant propertiesas saturation properties or maximum neutron star mass if available • interpolation routines- enables EoS user to extract data in own favored format- provide derivative terms not given by developer • comprehensive manual and personal support- 75 pages manual (http://compose.obspm.fr and arXiv:1307.5715)- contact develop.compose@obspm.fr (S. Typel, M. Oertel, T. Klähn) CompOSE - http://compose.obspm.fr CompStar Online Supernovae Equations of State
main purpose: interface for developers and users of EoS • about 50 registered users • A number of representative EoS in full n-T-Ye – plane: • Lattimer/Swesty 220 w/ or w/o Λ(Oertel et al.) • TM1, TMA, NL3, DD2, FSG,IUF w/ nuclei (Hempel et al.) • More to come • 2 key issues:1. need to provide as many EoS as possible: currently about 202. make EoS users realize the advantages of CompOSE: • - one unique data format for all available EoS, one time effort to get used to it • (compare to: each developer provides as he provides, unless you’re friends) • - precise and tested interpolation routines, thermodynamic consistent - EoS are well documented (abstract, data index, key properties, references) • 1. and 2. are connected: PLEASE advertise! PLEASE provide! PLEASE use! CompOSE - http://compose.obspm.fr CompStar Online Supernovae Equations of State
