BULGARIAN TOURISM INDUSTRY FACTS AND FIGURES 2013 • The airports in the Black Sea cities of Burgas and Varna, serviced a total of 3 602 004 passengers and 33 478 flights in 2012. • Russians held the biggest share of serviced passengers at the Burgas Airport. By the end of October 2013, up by 35% from the same period in 2012. • German passengers, the second biggest group, went up by 4.2%. • Visitors from the UK and the Czech Republic ranked third and fourth, respectively.

BULGARIAN TOURISM INDUSTRY FACTS AND FIGURES 2013 By the end of October 2013, Bulgaria registered : • 1 281 679 visitors from Greece, down by 1.2% on the year and • 953 260 visitors from Greece, down by 1.2% on the year • 380 500 visitors from FYROM, up by 4 % year on year, • 336 215 visitors from Serbia, up by 3% from October 2012. • By the end of October 2013, a total of 178 242 tourists from the Austria came to Bulgaria, which constitutes a 4.1 % increase from the same period of 2012. • At the same time, the number of tourists arriving from EU countries up by 5.7% to about 4 900 622.

BULGARIAN TOURISM INDUSTRY FACTS AND FIGURES 2013 By the end of 2013, Bulgaria expected : • 9 million visitors ( 6.6 million tourists, up by 4.5% on the year) • EUR 3 billion total income on international arrivals, up by 0.8% • Share of Gross Domestic Product - 12.5 % • Total added value by Tourism Industry - 15.7 % of GDP • Foreign currency receipts per head – EUR 442 • 350.000 persons (12%) depending on Tourism Industry

  9. NEW DEVELOPMENTS “Destination Rila” • 8000 ha • 20 000 beds • 155 km ski slopes • 550 m euro • 200 000 tourists • Companies include the European Mountain Association, Cluster Montagne, the Franco- Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce, and four other companies, including Dalkia and Schneider.
