1. The Weekly Connection THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR DONATIONS FOR OUR FALL FESTIVAL BASKET!!!!! Our basket was bought for $250!!! The money from our basket will go towards new classroom library books and center activities as well as supplies! This week in Math… We will be continuing subtraction and solving word problems. Please work with your students at home on these concepts. They can sometimes be difficult for students. The website www.ixl.com has great practice problems! Reminders!!!!!!! Picture Day is Oct. 23 Please make sure you turn in your order form and money by Tuesday morning if you would like to order pictures. Book Fair – Oct. 22 – 26 Trick or Treat Night – Oct. 26 • Each year, Piner’s 2nd graders travel to a local nursing home to put on a holiday show. This year, we will be going in December! Starting today, we will begin collecting items for care packages that will go to the residents. A lot of residents will be spending Christmas alone this year and we’d like to give them a little holiday cheer! Below are some items we are accepting through Nov. 30! • Throws - Candles • Sugar Free Candies - Small Holiday Décor Items • Socks with skid free bottoms - Anything you think a resident would like. Please • Word Search/Crossword Puzzle Books no lotions or colognes as we do not know what allergies • Picture Frames they may have. Thank you so much for all that you do!
