  2. Hong Kong before the British • This shows Hong Kong before British involvement.

  3. Ships • The ships show that Chinese shipbuilding have not progressed to British standards, therefore, this was before Hong Kong was occupied by the British.

In the background there is the Victoria peak and the artist is behind the British soldiers with rifles, and on the other side there are the Hong Kong soldiers. and you can see a Hong Kong official as well in the center of the picture handling the final touches.
