Capacity building priorities at REETA planning meeting, 11 – 14 February 2014 Building on work that had been done through CREDP/GIZ and the CARICOM Energy Unit; Providing support in developing the syllabus and curricula to offer a multidisciplinary Masters in Sustainable Energy and Climate Change; Bridging the gap between industry needs and university programs; Encouraging countries to establish scholarship systems and collaborate with universities, donor agencies, CARICOM, as well as, the industry and the private sector; Raising the standard of training in the region and create quality control; and Working with technical colleges and community colleges which produced technicians to do the installations and maintenance of systems. Opportunities for collaboration with SIDSDOCK Transferability and phasing of the initiative to start with • the pilot phase in three OECS countries and leading to • subsequent phases for the remaining OECS countries and then, • the remaining CARICOM Member States. Development of Certificate Courses on solar PV and biogasinto courses for CVQ qualifications of technicians – this may require a sub-working group to focus on this phase/component.
