Data Collection • Starts with LEA Plan • FORM 8 – Application for Approval of Continuing Secondary Technical Education Concentrations • FORM 9 – Approval of Continuing Adult Prep Concentrations • Approved Curriculum by Facilities List (ACF) • Process for Making Revisions
Data Collection • WorkKeys • Identification of students – ALL students Secondary & Postsecondary that have completed four required courses in designated concentrations (only exception is ET2170 – Truck Driving) • Scoring is done by WVU-P – Mistakes in coding or student ID numbers invalidate results • Fall and Spring Testing Results are included
Data Collection • Global 21 Performance Assessment • Identification of students – ALL secondary students that have completed four required courses in designated concentrations and adult students wishing to earn EDGE Credit • Fall and Spring Testing Required • Data Entry - ?? • Formative Assessments – New procedures are being developed for all NCCER Programs

State Results - WorkKeys • Tests Required • Reading • Math • Locating Information • WVDE Pays for the 1st set of tests – $9.00 per test - $27.00 per student • Re-Testing is an option and expense of schools and counties • Highest Score is counted • Students MUST receive a silver, gold or platinum certificate to meet standards • Students receiving a BRONZE certificates do not meet standard

Improvement Process – Local Improvement Plans • Required for ALL Concentrations not Meeting 100% of Standards - Locate Last 2 Columns (Proficiency Standards) on Data Profile – NR means no improvement plan required • Submit on-line – DUE DATE – September 15, 2012 • Plans will be reviewed by Coordinators and suggestions returned to LEA • Final Approval of Plans will be made by Executive Assistant, Office of CTE Accountability and Support – Due Date – October 15, 2012
Improvement Process – Local Improvement Plans • WVDE CTE staff will discuss Improvement Plans whenever in schools and file report on progress • IMPORTANT - Concentrations that have been on improvement plans for the past three years and do not meet standards this year 2012-13 will not be funded in FY 2014 • LEA is required to develop a system to monitor plans
Improvement Process - Targeted Assistance • LEAs/Counties will receive on-visit • Will schedule visits beginning late October • Required to incorporate report findings in LEA Plan
