Important Communities (Present Today!) • Educators (colleges, school districts, boards of education) • Business owners/large water users • Business organizations (e.g., SG Valley Economic Partnership, Chambers, organized labor) • City councils, city managers, public works, water utilities • Government organizations (e.g. SG Valley Council of Governments) • Community and ethnic leaders • Homeowner and community improvement associations • Environmental organizations and activists

Risks of Lack of Engagement • Water policy-makers lack input and perspective of San Gabriel Valley citizens • Legislation and policy do not reflect community input or address our needs • Progress stalls on key water initiatives (such as the Water Bond) as we “kick the can down the road” • Lack of investment in new water infrastructure so the old water infrastructure continues to age • Water pricing will not reflect a diversified and educated community’s needs • The San Gabriel Valley economy, environment and quality of life suffer.

An Informed Community is a Partnerin Efforts to Achieve Water Reliability • Informed citizens take appropriate action and produce results • Phases of action for YOU! • Share information and encourage dialogue • Prioritize objectives and needs • Implement a targeted outreach program including pilot projects and new ideas • Reach out and link up with other informed community groups • Come to the next Water Forum • We need YOUR ideas and commitments to action!
