How much money is available? • A total of £75,000 • Up to £10,000 for each project • No minimum amount
Who can apply? • 75% for community groups • 75% for voluntary groups and charities • 50% for businesses • 25% for public bodies • Volunteer time can be included as match funding
Projects must meet certain criteria • All core criteria • One aim of the AONB • One of emda’s outputs • One of the desirable criteria
Core criteria • Is located in the AONB or directly benefits it • Supports sustainable development principles • Conserves or enhances local characteristics of culture, wildlife, landscape, land use, community and economy • Provide some element of public benefit • Be in accordance of applicable legislation
Aims of the AONB • To conserve and enhance the natural beauty of the AONB, including the built environment • To promote sustainable forms of social and economic development in the AONB • To promote the economic and social well-being of local communities • To promote quiet enjoyment of the AONB • To raise awareness of the AONB • To encourage a reduction in car use and promote alternatives
emda’s key outputs • To create or sustain jobs • To improve or reuse brownfield land • To create and fill learning opportunities • To create or attract new businesses • To provide new community facilities, including access centres • To encourage businesses to increase their use of ICT • To encourage new social enterprises • To refurbish buildings for employment or business
