  2. Aims of the LSTF • Encourage and assist economic growth through the provision of sustainable and accessible transport solutions • Help to decarbonise transport through an increase in the use of sustainable modes of transport • Funding available between 2011/12 – 2014/15 to assist the above

  3. Telford’s strategy • Submission of a component bid with: • A small scale package bid up to £5m (£3.5m secured) • A large scheme up to £50m (£6m secured) • A deliverable package bid focussed on key areas of growth or issues • Pump priming initiatives

  4. Objectives of Telford’s package bid • Provision of support in 3 areas: • Support for tourism sector • Address congestion outside schools • Support for business • Reducing segregation between land uses • Provide alternatives to car use

  5. Projects • Telford Central Interchange • Silkin Way multi-user route • Telford – Newport – Stafford • Gorge Connect Park & Ride • Area Travel Pans

  6. How can you benefit? • Promote sustainable transport links to your businesses / attractions • Improved customer offer “we cater for cyclists and this is how you get here” etc…. • Utilise grants available – or lose them! • Support Area Travel Plans – get involved
