My Philosophy “I am a firm believer that every child has the ability to learn. I am here to empower students and teach them life skills that will help them build character and self-esteem. I want to inspire my students and allow them to make decisions on his/her own. I want to challenge my students to do their best. I value each student’s different styles of learning and will be implementing diverse strategies to fulfill their individual needs.”
LOGISTICS… • Tardy bell rings at 8:20 • Monday dismissal at 1:30 • Tuesday-Friday dismissal at 2:50 • Please make all attempts possible to schedule vacations and doctor appointments during non-school hours! • Students are required to make up all work missed during absences. • Students are in charge of finding out missed work. • Students may check for work in the Absent Binder.

DIGITS New math program, piloted 2014+ Standards are compliant to common core+ All computer based+students have access classwork will be paper/project based. ?( Mall field trip) – calculate %please see me personally if there will be an issue with computer access for students at home.
Accelerated Reader (AR)- 3 or 6 week grading period- Individualized goals/points- Students test within ZPD- Test below ZPD is no credit- Test above ZPD with teacher approval only- Fail 2 tests within grading period can’t test again until next grading period (70% passing)
Grading: • Late assignments are NOT accepted • Homework/Classwork = 60% • Tests/Quizzes = 40% • Exception: Reading (AR 20%, HW/Class work = 50%, Tests/Quizzes = 30%) “The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically.
