  3. Soil Association • The UK's leading environmental charity promoting sustainable, organic farming and championing human health. • Funded by members, donations, grants and from the certification of organic food

  4. Certification • Over 70% of organic products that are sold in the UK carry the Soil Association symbol • Over 4000 farms and businesses are certified by Soil Association Certification Limited

  5. Organic principles • International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM) • Health - Organic Agriculture should sustain and enhance the health of soil, plant, animal, human and planet as one and indivisible. • Ecology - Organic Agriculture should be based on living ecological systems and cycles, work with them, emulate them and help sustain them

Fairness - Organic Agriculture should build on relationships that ensure fairness with regard to the common environment and life opportunities • Care - Organic Agriculture should be managed in a precautionary and responsible manner to protect the health and well-being of current and future generations and the environment. • www.ifoam.org

Standards - aquatic ingredients • You must use aquatic ingredients: • of organic origin, or failing that • from wild marine resources that we recognise as independently certified as sustainable (such as by the Marine Stewardship Council), or failing that • made from the by-products of wild caught fish for human consumption
