High School Day • School Hours 7:20 a.m. – 2:10 p.m. • Block Scheduling • “A”, “B” day (4 blocks per day) • First Block- 90 minutes • Second Block - 90 minutes • Third Block- 125 minutes to provide lunch for all students • Fourth Block- 90 minutes • All students will have a 30 minute lunch built into their schedule

What are credits? • Credits are “standard” or “verified” • “Standard” credits are earned by passing the course. • “Verified” credits are earned by passing the course and a related SOL test.
Mandatory Graduation Requirement for the entering class of 2014-2015 • All students for the Advanced and Standard Diploma must take a virtual course before graduation • Students that are seeking the Standard Diploma must earn a CTE Industry certification before graduation

Freshman Schedule • Six classes with two It’s Academic blocks, seven classes with one It’s Academic block or Eight classes without an It’s Academic block • (eight classes is not recommended for most ninth graders) • English 9 or Honors English 9 • Algebra I Pt. 1&2 with Algebra lab or Geometry Pt.1&2, Geometry Honors, or Alg. II, • Algebra II/Trig • Earth Science or Biology • World History I, World History IIor • AP Human Geography (counselor recommendation required) • Health and PE I • Elective and /or World Language
