  2. People across the way • Holden sees a man cross dressing • A couple spitting on each other • Turned on but embarassed • Believes if you’re fooling around with a woman you should be more respectful • SENSE OF INJUSTICE

  3. Phonebooth • Thinks about calling Jane, Phoebe or Sally. • Decides on calling a woman who used to be a stripper. He hasn’t met her and doesn’t end up meeting with him; Faith.

  4. 3 Ladies • Holden goes to the lobby • Dances with 3 woman • Buys them drinks and cigarettes • They only laugh at him for being so young • They are ‘phonies’

  5. Maurice • The elevator man offers to send up a prossy • Impulsively, Holden accepts

Sunny the prossy • Sunny makes fast moves on Holden • But Holden feels uncomfortable and refuses blaming his attitude on an injury • This shows his indecisiveness and the fact he does not know what he wants..
