Research Issue • To investigate the question “ How can an organisation fully benefit from Corporate Responsibility (CR) and sustainability related executive development in terms of strategic organisational development?” • To be examined through the effect of CR related management learning interventions on a) the organisation b) the individual Entrance interview - Cranfield School of Management 10th September 2007
The importance of this topic • The cost and impact of disconnect between raised expectations of executives related to CR principles which conflict with the prevailing organisation culture. • To inform the development of effective CR related interventions to contribute to organisation strategy and development. Questions to address • What are the theoretical issues underpinning CR as a force for good in an OD context? • What is the definition of effective CR learning intervention in terms of strategic contribution to OD? • What is the current effectiveness of CR teaching in terms of contribution to OD? • What are the examples – good and bad? • What is the comparative cost and impact between good and bad examples? • What are the barriers and enablers of embedding CR management principles in an organisation? What might be understood or known as a result • Understanding of how organisations, with an expressed will to embed CR principles, can accommodate and utilise CR related executive learning as a contribution to organisational development. • The value of CR related exec. dev.
