Success is not achieved alone. Parents play an important role in everything. So, be present for your toddlers when they need you, without thrusting your opinions on them.

Why Family Support Is Necessary For Young Footballers Be it Football or any sport, the parents play an important role in the sports development of a child, more so if the child is too young to determine his/her own goals. Numerous studies have concluded that positive parental influence enhances skills development while negative connotations like excessive emotional and physical pressure, wrong advice and constant bullying, result in severe depression and a decrease in their interest in the game. Parents should be there, by their children at all times. But, they should also be careful about the way they tend to influence those little kids. At First Steps Soccer, a reputed child Football Academy in Bristol, we always advise the parents to be encouraging but, not nagging toward their child's sports activities.
Confused? Don't worry, we are going to explain in details. The Role Of A Parent In The Life Of A Sportsperson Studies conducted all over the world have revealed that successful players do give some credit to their parents for being supportive and encouraging. Therefore, it is quite clear that, if you want your child to succeed in the game, you should not only stand by them but also be their confidante and friend, someone they can trust with their problems. They may not like their coaches or they may have a banter with other kids in the Football Academy. Instead of keeping all these to themselves, the children should rely on their parents. Even if they do not like the game at all and wish to opt for something else, you should be supportive and try not to go overboard with your suggestion of trying harder. If your child feels he/she is born to play, nothing can make them stay away for long. Also, parents should never pump up their child's selfesteem to an extent that they become overconfident. This may lead them to become disobedient and disrespectful toward their coaches, trainers and other players. Hence, the parents should watch their words as much as their ways while dealing with their little players. Now, the following points explain a few things that a parent should do and should not do to speed up their child's Football development. Should Do Always be supportive and never ever discourage your toddlers saying things like, “This is not for you”, “You are no good” or, “Your brother/friend/sister does it better than you”. Instead, replace these with phrases like, “I know you can do better”, “You have it in you”, “You are the best, only you have to believe it.” Have faith in the coaches. They know better what will help your child to improve his/her game. Provide all types of financial and emotional support to your child in his/her initial days. If he/she needs a new sports T, give it. This will keep their interest alive for
longer. Should Not Do Never become too involved in their game. It will make them feel nervous and pressurised about winning. Do not make them doubt their coaches. If you wish to give some advice, limit yourself to the generic ones like motivation, support and encouragement. You can talk to the coaches regarding any idea you have but never confuse your child in the midst of his/her training. Never overemphasize winning. Participation is all that matters. They are too young. Let them enjoy the game first. The First Steps Soccer team has always managed to keep the child on the top of their priority lists. That is the reason parents have complete faith in us. Being a renowned Child Football Academy in Bristol, we never do anything that may hurt the child's selfesteem or make them run away.
