Pottsville School District Report to Patrons 2012-2013
Goals of Pottsville School District • Pottsville School District continues to support the learning and development of all students. It is our goal to ensure every child performs at or above grade level and that they are proficient or advanced on all state mandated testing. The district strives to develop 21st century skills with our students to prepare them for the future workforce.
Accreditation Status • All schools in the Pottsville School District are fully accredited through the Department of Education. • With NCLB, all schools would have continued to meet Average Yearly Progress as required by the Arkansas Department of Education. However, with the ESEA waiver that replaced NCLB, our Elem, MG, HS, and District have been classified as “needs improvement”. Our JH is classified as “achieving”. *We have recently filed an appeal with ADE based upon some student discrepancies that were found. See page at back of packet for differences between NCLB and the ESEA Waiver.
