  4. Composition Currently 47 Regions • 5 Regions still in the process of changing according to Municipal Demarcation • Registration fee per region R3000 • Affiliation fee per region R350.00 • Increase of affiliation suggested for 2013 -R1000.00

Challenges • Provinces to assist regional teams to participate at national championships • At the moment they only assist provincial structures. • No netball offices in the regions, a workable solution would be for us to identify a school in each local municipality. To get government and the private sector to provide resources, and have local clubs making use the school. • Schools will be an ideal home to host netball clubs.

Head office netball home • Netball facility: • Phase 1 • 4 indoor courts, 5000-10000 seating capacity to be of International standard • 2 premium change rooms • 6 standard change rooms • All change rooms designed to accommodate wheelchair sports participants • Netball injury prevention and rehabilitation and program rooms • Umpires change rooms accommodating disabled persons • First aid and drug testing facilities • Kitchen and kiosk facilities • Sport specific air cooling • Correct lighting for TV coverage

Netball home • Phase 2 • 10 outdoor all weather courts • Accommodation for players • See attached plans • R 350 000 000.00 • Multi purpose venue • Basket Ball • Volley Ball • Rope Skipping • Gymnastics • Table tennis • DISSA (Disability Sport South Africa) • Identified property/Land • Avion Park owned by Propnet (Government land) • Staff: • Need a full staff compliment of 18 paid staff members • Currently only two paid staff members • Short term needs funding for the post of a CEO

National teams’ preparation • Camps: • Invite players to camps through the selection process; see attached booklet • Tested, provided with training programmes according to the outcomes of the test results. Players get tested at every camp to monitor the progress. Training programmes are athlete/position specific. • Monitor the final 15 in the squad • Budget • Training camps amounts to R350 000.00 per camp and includes flights, accommodation and meals, medical, physio, sport scientist and all programmes. • Test series local • To host a 3 Test series R950 000.00 • To participate abroad R750 000.00 the Hosting team pays for accommodation and meals.

  14. Abuse of players • We have found ourselves in a situation that we are not certain of how to deal with. • We have done investigations about the abuse, the players confirmed verbally that they were abused and to scared to come forward and put it in writing.

Role of NSA in development of Netball in Africa • NSA Relations with IFNA • We are full members of IFNA • We have 2 international umpires • Tertia le Roux was invited to the World Netball Championships as a technical official • NoluntuDyubhele was identified as a international technical official. • 1 MAP representative • 1 CAP representative • One of our players (Erin Burger) awarded player of the World Netball Championships. • Bongi Msomi was awarded player of a match. • President and Vice President invited to IFNA Congress • President and Vice President are members of Africa Netball • We hosted the first Africa qualifying games.
