  2. Step 1 – Think It! • Problem: The flap of fabric behind or in front of the zipper gets caught inside the zipper and causes it to not work properly.

  3. Step 2 – Explore It! Possible solutions: • To use tweezers to loosen the fabric then to use a pencil and a bar of soap to lubricate the zipper. • Rub the zipper with chapstick. • Put a few drops of liquid soap on the stuck part of the zipper. • Try a small amount of petroleum jelly • Wiggle the zipper • Carefully tug the zipper • Jiggle the zipper carefully

  6. I’m sketching my project. This is me sketching my project. And thinking is this going to work or not?

  7. Step 4 – Create It! Old I made my invention by putting clay on the slider not on the pull tab. It did not work properly. I then found some computer stuff to make a new design for my Zipper Fixer. I made it in six different colors: pink, purple, silver, yellow, orange, and green. It will fit any zipper. New

  8. I’m trying to do my project, Odin! This is me trying to do my project with my dog Odin sniffing my project.

  9. My Invention right now. Old This is my invention without the pointy clay that didn’t work the first time. My new model has metal and is more sturdy. New

  10. The side of my project. Old This is the side of my project that is kind of pointy to keep the fabric out of the zipper. My new model has beads to make them original and fancy. New

  11. Step 5 – Try It! • I tried my invention with the pointy clay and it broke off. I had to try a different sculpted invention like putting it flat at first. Then I put it on some of the top of the zipper. The pull tab could then move back and forth.

  12. Step 6 – Tweak It! • We have to use super glue because the hot glue didn’t stick well to the clay. Also the clay was not sturdy enough. Then I decided I had to redesign my invention. I found some of my dad’s electrical connectors. These were made of metal. I then used super glue to attach it to the zipper. This made it stronger.

  13. Step 7- Sell It!
