Have a great idea for an invention • The real world problem I want to solve or help improve are stuck zippers. • Its something that many of my friends complain to me about. • To take it out by hand is not only a hindrance but it takes a lot of effort. • I want to create this invention to make peoples lives easier in situations where you want to take it out quickly.

Have a great idea for an invention • I intend to try to solve the problem by creating a contraption. • It will almost look like a regular stick but it will be coated in clear wax. • The clear wax will help the fabric to snag out of the zipper faster. • To make it more travel-friendly, it will be on a keychain and it will be travel-size.

Comparable to a toothpick • The zipper slipper is an invention that can be compared to a toothpick. • Its shaped like a thin stick. • A toothpick gets food that’s stuck in between your teeth. • A zipper slipper gets fabric stuck in between your zipper. • The zipper slipper will wedge in between the rows of teeth and will pull the fabric out.

Investigating inventions and ideas of the past • Many dollars have gone to waste when a zipper is stuck on an expensive clothing or purse and you have to throw it away because you can’t open it. • An invention specifically made for pulling stuck zippers hasn’t quite been invented and nobody really has recommended a specific tool. • Instead, people on internet have suggested different common household products that help a stuck zipper. • The people on the internet say that you can just wash the fabric, but that can complicate situations. • By making it into like a toothpick sort of gadget you can avoid having to ruin or stain the fabric.

Investigating inventions and ideas of the past • Common household products such as graphite and wax based products will help with a stuck zipper. • Graphite and other wax based products could end up staining the fabric that is caught and may end up with unsatisfying results. • You would have to wash the fabric off and if it was leather, you wouldn’t be able to wash it.

8. Other parts of the Zipper Slipper The clear wax on the tip of the hook like stick will help get the fabric out of the zipper. The wax also won’t stain the fabric because it is clear and uncolored. The keychain will make it a better option for people who like small but resourceful and handy items. The spring will allow it to stretch further if its on a keychain or it won’t reach the target because its attached to a zipper.

9. Visual Representation It will hang off of a zipper hook like a normal keychain. The keychain can be unattached to the hook if the zipper becomes stuck. Its really small and it can easily be slipped into a side pocket or in your lunch bag for quick access.

10. How the zipper slipper will work When the zipper is stuck in the fabric as shown below, you would probably try to pull it out and most likely, you will be unsuccessful. The Zipper slipper would basically be inserted in between the fabric and the zipper and would pull the fabric out. CLOSE UP!

12. The name of my invention • The name of my invention would be “The zipper slipper.” • I would call it “The zipper slipper” because it slips the fabric right out of your stuck zipper.

The reason people should buy it • People should buy the Zipper Slipper because it’s a resourceful yet handy tool that can be used in times of panic. • Its fairly small and not complicated to use. • It won’t stain the fabric. • You can avoid hopelessly tugging on it with your fingers. • It reusable and you could probably use it multiple times before you either break it or need a new one.
