  10. WHY?

  11. TDSB • gets $251 more per pupil than average • an increase of $30 per pupil since 2002-03 • receives $1,100 more per pupil than Peel

  12. Other boards • Dufferin-Peel receives $141 more per pupil • York Region receives an additional $86 • Ottawa-Carleton receives $670 more

  13. Numbers are all wrong

  14. Since 2001 • grown by over 33,000 students • 93 distinct ethnic groups • more than 60 languages • newcomer population represents about 45% of region's total population

  15. Special Education • spend $16 million more than we get • receive lowest per pupil amount of high needs funding • $300 less per pupil than average • $135 less than GTA boards
