Determining the best area for artificial groundwater recharge in Parsyan basin in Iran using GIS analysis. Study focuses on semi-arid region with water scarcity issues. Tabriz (North West) South Coast
Problem In my study area: • Temporary river • Arid region • Drinking water • Agriculture • Sending rainwater toward aquifer by canal
Criteria for suitable site • Infiltration Rate • More than 20 mm/hr • Slope • 0-8 % • Depth to water table • More than 20 m
Conclusion • The best site for artificial recharge is located in south east side of basin . • Suitable area contains 15% of basin’s total area.
