Your first day on the job • School is about the begin when: • Your director sends you an URGENT email asking for the names of the people in the technology pilot program. • The secretary calls you to tell you a parent is in the front office demanding a meeting with you because his daughter is always harassed by a boy and that boy, he explains, is in her class again this year. He is not leaving until that boy is removed from her class. • A teacher stops by your office to tell you that no one is “on duty” in front of the building where the walkers enter. She goes on to explain that last year their was always someone there to monitor the students’ arrival. She says, “ I know you are new, but there you just can’t trust ‘those walkers.’ You need to go stand there.” What should you consider in this situation? What do you do?
