Planning for 2003 • Involve state of Texas and city of Austin • Complete founding sponsor sponsorship campaign • Appoint BOD and advisory boards • Hire WCIT staff, secure office and initial contractors • Deliver launch event in Texas, February 2004 • Prepare for participation in WCIT 2004 in Athens, Greece

Accomplishments • Organizational hires and new office • Economic impact study • Board of Directors and Advisory Council • Founding and Seed sponsors • Marketing and Public Relations plans (Phase I and II) developed to Athens • Involvement of local, state and federal governments • Texas launch event, February 2004 • Preparations for Athens, May 2004

  4. Sponsorship to Date Founding Sponsors, $100k Seed Sponsors, $50k ClayPope • Private Sector: $1.1M committed • Public Sector: $4M - $5M requested

Road to WCIT 2004 in Athens, Greece • Continue to build our organizational structure • Build Texas sponsorships; begin US recruitment after Athens • Increase awareness of World Congress • Launch marketing and public relations campaigns • Build relationships and develop key alliances • Keep on top of key IT policy issues • Help, support and collaborate with WCIT 2004
