  2. 1. What IS “Petroleum”? • Same as ‘crude oil’ • Petro = rock in Greek. Oleum= oil in Greek. • Petroleum= Rock Oil. Make 2 or 3 slides for your table. • Save into your server folder. • When done, click on ‘student links’ on your desk top. • Find the “Share with a Friend” folder. Save your slides into the 8th Grade Science Folder in our period’s folder.

Motor oil • Pesticides, fertilizers • Ink • Chemicals for making pharmaceuticals.
