  3. Shiver • Set in the suburbs in Minneapolis, MN • The town is surrounded by woods, recently filled with wolves • Grace is a teenager who loves wolves, reading and the woods behind her house • Sam is a young man who works in a bookstore during the summer, and disappears every winter

  4. Summary • Shiver is the first book of a trilogy which includes Linger and Forever (the 2nd and 3rd books). Grace is bitten by a wolf as a young girl, she survives but finds from then on she has an obsession with the wolves which roam the woods near her home. As a teenager she is inexplicably drawn to a young wolf who seems to watch her. One day she meets Sam, he is evasive about his life and his eyes look familiar. Will Sam trust Grace with his secret?

  5. Reflection • I enjoyed reading this trilogy. It picks up the popular theme of werewolves that appears in a lot of today’s young adult literature. This book tells the story of an average girl facing a difficult decision and keeping a big secret. The trilogy tells an entertaining story and each book left me wanting to know what happens next.
