Start with a topic sentence: My favorite thing is ice cream.
Then, write your three support sentences: • 10 words or more • Remember to expand using and, but or because • Ask questions such as: how?when?where? why?
You must add a conclusion • This sentence gives no new information • It echoes what is in the topic sentence, but it is in different words • It doesn’t need to be 10 words
Example of a Paragraph • My favorite thing is ice cream.Ice cream comes in many flavors, such as rocky road and bubble gum, not to mention vanilla.It makes me feel nice and cool on hot summer days!It reminds me of when I was young when my Dad and I used to go to the ice cream parlor.These are just three of the many reasons why I like ice cream.
