Nominating Bodies • Bodies representative of business, industry and employers • ·       Chambers Ireland; Irish Small and Medium Enterprises Association;      Irish Business and Employers’ Confederation. • Bodies representative of learners • ·       AONTAS (National Adult Learning Organisation) ·       National Adult Literacy Agency

Bodies representative of persons engaged in the management of, or leadership in, recognised schools • Joint Managerial Body; • Association of Community and Comprehensive Schools; • National Association of Principals and Deputy Principals. • Bodies which are not in the three designated categories • Youth Work Ireland; • Scouting Ireland; • Irish National Organisation of the Unemployed; • Irish Second Level Students Union; • Irish Congress of Trade Unions; • Foras naGaeilge. • In addition, specified four more bodies • Association of Higher Education Access and Disability (AHEAD); • Disability Federation of Ireland; • Foróigeand • National Youth Council of Ireland.

  9. Functions of ETB • Plan provision of education services • Ensure provision is economical, effescient & effective • Adopt and submit education plan • Adopt and submit service plan • Consult with • BOM • Students • Parents • ETB Staff • Other ETB where appropriate

  10. Reserved functions for ETB Committee e.g. Acquisition of lands, powers of borrowing, suspension of officers, payment of expenses etc. Executive functions will be performed by C.E.O. Functions of the ETB • Committee functions 10

  12. Role of Parents Reps • Represent views of Parents of Children in ETB Schools on Education Issues • Meet with Parents Association in ETB Area • Look for Chair and Sec details • Meet once per year!! • Give contact details to Schools
