Introduction • This module will refresh the Data Communication and Computer Networks fundamentals and mainly focuses on practical network of • Public Switch Telephone Network (PSTN), • Mobile Network, • Next Generation Network (NGN), • Different access technologies such as ADSL, FTTH. Also it will study the latest technologies such as Cloud Computing, Software Define Network, and BYOD etc. • Data, Signals, Analog Transmission, Digital Transmission, Error Detection, Error Correction, Wired LAN, Wireless LAN, overview of PSTN, Mobile Network, SDH, MPLS, OTN, signaling, NGN etc.
Learning Outcomes • Understand the fundamentals of • Data Communication and Computer Networks. • Understand the operations of • PSTN, Mobile Network and Next Generation Network (NGN) • Understand the different broadband access technologies • ADSL and FTTH. • Understand the new technologies of • SDN, Cloud Computing and BYOD.
