10/23/1955 what about the South? • Bao Dai vs. Ngo Dinh Diem in elections. • Diem’s cousin Ngo Dinh Nhu organized the elections.
Diem recorded 98.2% of the vote. • More people voted then were registered…..Really? • 3 days later Diem formed the Republic of Vietnam. • Diem becomes president- authoritarian leader.
