9100 Series/9101 Transition Planning Start date will be established by IAQG Leadership TBD TBD Maximum 6 Months Maximum 12 Months Maximum 12 Months Develop Auditor Training Train Certification Bodiesand Auditors All Companies to Upgrade to New Standard At Next Surveillance Audit Or Re-Certification Earliest Opportunityfor Certification to New Standard (i.e. the early adopters) Maximum Allowed Time to Upgrade This plan will also be applied to AS9110/9120
Aerospace Auditor Sanctioned Training The IAQG has determined that specific auditor training for all AQMS auditors is required to ensure effective implementation of the updated 9101 standard and effective auditing of organizations seeking certification to the updated 9100, 9110, and 9120 standards. The need for consistent training was identified during 2008 FMEA conducted by the IAQG OPMT (Reference: 2008 Auditor Workshop Agenda presentation for FMEA summary). The target audience will be certified Aerospace Auditors (AA, AEA). All certified aerospace auditors will be required to take the sanctioned training prior to 9100C auditor certification. Other training programs are currently available (overviews, summary of changes, internal auditor, etc.). Aerospace Auditors must be aware that these courses will not be recognized for authentication.
Aerospace Auditor Training Request for Proposal (RFP) has been sent this week to several industry recognized training providers. The selected training material developer will develop course materials for Aerospace Auditors and Trainers for use in conducting training to facilitate the transition to the 9100:2009, 9110:2009, and 9120:2009 AQMS standards and the 9101:2009 Auditing Standard. The materials developed will be reviewed and approved by a team of aerospace industry subject matter experts. The training materials will be made available to all stakeholders. Training Providers will need to be approved by an IAQG Sector (AAQG RMC) recognized Training Provider Approval Body (TPAB) (i.e.; RABQSA).
Summary We must have assessment tools released and training completed prior to conducting AS9100C audits. The IAQG is developing sanctioned aerospace auditor training in order to reduce variation and ensure consistent interpretation of aerospace requirements. Auditors should familiarize themselves with 9100C changes and where to get additional information. 9100 deployment support materials are available at: IAQG Requirements Once the timeline has been set; Auditors should provide awareness to their clients and ensure implementation timelines are met.
