IOM in the Philippines • Government of the Philippines (GPH) invited IOM to the country in 1974 • In 1988, the Philippines became an IOM Member State • In 2003, the Global Administrative Centre was established in Manila (now known as MAC), and provides global support in the areas of finance, human resources management, information technology, staff security, project tracking, and health claims processing, among others. • IOM is a member of the UN Country Team/Humanitarian Country Team (UN CT/HCT) • IOM is the co-lead agency of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in the Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) Cluster for internally displaced persons (IDP)

Key Principles in Action • Listen and obtain voluntary, informed consent. • Prioritize the safety of trafficked persons, self and staff by assessing risks and making consultative and well-informed decisions • Help without discriminating based on sex, gender identity, age, socio-economic class, religion, race or ethnicity • Be prepared with referral information including collaboration with other service providers • Respect the rights, choices and decisions of the victim/survivor
