  2. Blitzkrieg • Blitzkrieg is also known as “Lightning War”. The Nazi’s needed a catchy phrase to describe their speed and destruction of the German’s attack on Poland. 4. SS (Schutzstaffe) • Hitler needed loyal bodyguards. Well in 1923 he made a group. They were distinguished from the S.A. They wore black ski caps with silver buttons in the shape of a skull. After awhile they changed their name to Schutzstaffe or the S.S. Through out the war the S.S. terriozed all of Europe. They would un the Death Marches at the end of the War. IF someone ran, the would kill them with no regret. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Bundesarchiv_Bild_183-J07989,_Berlin,_Sportpalast,_Waffen-SS-Angeh%C3%B6rige.jpg “Schutzstaffe.” The Nazi.1998.Print

  5. Medical Experiments • Medical Experiments were very sad. IN Auschwitz chunks of flesh were cut from fresh corpse and used to grow in labs. Dr. Josepf Mengele was intrigued by how so many Soviet Union prisoners looked like his superior race. The would take skull measurements and then shot them. He sometimes used them to change brown eyes to blue eyes. Dr. Josepf Mengele really liked twins. He would have twins have sex with other twins to see if other twins would be produced. They then would kill them and dissect them. They were exposed to increasing doses of x-rays to see how much would cause sterilization without death. Prisoners were shot and wounded to see if they could simulate being shot on the battlegrounds, they then would use treatments on them to see if they would work. http://www.nola.com/health/index.ssf/2012/07/national_world_war_ii_museum_e.html “Medical Experiments. HE joined the S.S. in 1925. He became leader of the S.S. in 1929. Through out his life he suffered from a really bad illness. IT caused him to have severe headaches and intestinal cramps. 7. Ghettos • The Ghettos were the parts of the city only for Jews. Major Ghettos were Lodz, and Krakow. The Ghettos were away from the other parts of the city. The Nazi’s ordered them to wear badges on their arms near their shoulders. Their was little to no jobs in the Ghettos. The lived in filthy environments with diseases and hunger. Jewish police were made to establish justice. http://www.holocaustresearchproject.org/ghettos/izbica/images/izbica%20ghetto.jpg “Ghettos.”The Holocaust.1997.print
