Aim To train HQ staff, key personnel from units, HQ-company and Lifeguard Support together in operational procedures during rapid deployment peace support activities.
Overall objectives To use the staff training and the CPX as a combined tool to train SHIRBRIG planning procedures. To build a cohesive, functional, rapid deployable HQ for UN peace support operations. To train SHIRBRIG procedures and formats. To enhance the interaction between SHIRBRIG staff and unit commanders To improve the concept for rapid deployment as the nucleus of a Force HQ.
To combine staff training and CPX Use the staff trg for deployment phase and the CPX for employment phase as ”in-theatre” operations. Use the staff training for conducting the planning activities from mission analysis to Draft OP-Plan Use the CPX for conducting for contingency planning and battlefield management. To use the excisting scenario BOGALAND from SWEDINT. For the CPX, SHIRBRIG is deployed for a traditional PKO (about 5.000 troops) SHIRBRIG procedures and formats will be used. Scenario

Bogaland Scenario • It will be a peacekeeping missionin Bogaland with a Bde unit force size up to 5000and about 500 Military Observers • The Area of Operation (AO) will extend over the whole country and will include an Area of Responsibility (AOR), where peacekeeping operation will be performed under Chapter VI of the UN Charter within 3 Sectors. • Each Sector will be manned by a Bn Force Size, operating by establishing a Zone of Seperation and monitoring the withdrawal of the opposed Forces. • Within the Force structure the already existing UNMO structure has to integrated and to be used for liaison.
