Transportation Information Management System (TIMS) Presented to DoIT PCC April 27, 2011 New MexicoDepartment of Transportation
Background: The Transportation Information Management System (TIMS) was built as a client/server application, to replace the Consolidated Highway Data Base (CHDB). TIMS is a flexible application capable of evolving with technology trends and will provide a base for geospatially managing transportation infrastructure. TIMS was developed to improve data quality and make quality data readily available to the NMDOT. TIMS provides an integrated GIS and Web system to geospatially manage linear infrastructures, that is accessible and modifiable from either the GIS or web environment.
Project Status: • Testing and Acceptance Phase – Complete • Data migration and validation – Complete • System Training – On-going • ‘Silent go-live Phase” – On-going • Development of reports – On-going • PR to promote
Next Steps: Closeout Project to Transition to Operation Mode to include: • End User Training • Continue Development of Dashboard • Enhance software • Increase User Base Budget Budget Lifetime: $2,490,000 Expended: $2,136,692
