3. History of Rape Crisis Center 1972- Crisis line in operation.
Between 1972 &1980 employees voluntarily offer services to specific victims of rape and sexual assault.
1980- Rape Task force formed, offering 24/7 services to victims and community education programs.
1985- Renamed Rape Crisis Center.
4. Population Served Sexual assault/abuse victims seeking medical, investigative, forensic evidence collection, legal and supportive counseling and therapy services on an individual, community and multi-disciplinary basis, free of charge.
From 2004-2005, RCC served 313 new victims, 343 continuing clients and responded to the hospital for 108 rapes.
On average there are over 2 rapes/week reported in New Hanover CO.

7. Duties Rape Victims Advocate
-On call 48 hours per month to respond to the hospital when victimization is reported.
Support for Victim & informing them of their rights and options.
In office- observe and co-facilitate group therapy sessions (survivors), teen workshops, and observe individual therapy sessions.
