  1. Realization of educational project: „ How we save our planet?” in J. Brzechwa Primary School

  2. In Octoberstudents from higher classes in school in Borkowo took part in two main actions connected with Socrates Comenius Programme. First of them was an action called “Cleaning up the world” organised by our environmental teacher. Children spent one day walking across the main streets in Borkowo and cleaning them. They also took pictures before and after collecting rubbish.

  3. In this month the second activity, which main slogan was “when you collect recyclable, you save woods” began. In this action students in all classes were told to collect recyclable – they were doing it from October till the fifth of January. The best class got a prize and the list of amount of paper and litter collected by every class was hung on school board paper and shown to all school society.

  4. In our school children could also take part in two contests in October. In both of them pupils acquired knowledge about recycling and necessity of protecting natural environment through some everyday activities like recycling in their homes.

  5. The first was an artistic contest, organized by environmental teacher. The subject of pupils’ posters and paintings were “Colours of recycling”. They had to create works encouraging other people to recycle rubbish and show the meaning of the word “recycle”. In the second contest students were told to write poems, in which children suggested us how we should behave to keep clean and healthy world for us and other generations. The part of these works were gathered into a book.

  6. The results of both of these contests were shown by hanging them on school board papers. Many children with joy took part in contests and actions. They could also read some new information from the board paper, which subject was “ How do we protect our planet?”. There were a lot of useful information about recycling and ecology and translation of main slogans of these subjects, which helped students understand their meaning.

  7. In October within Socrates – Comenius programe our school undertook the following activities: The competition “ trash assosiations “ – what word can replace words “ litter or waste” Making and solving textual tasks using the information from the school bulletin about wastes and recycling ( on the lessons of mathematics )

  8. Undertaken activities influenced : - understanding of notions concerning wastes and recycling, - enhancing pupils’ consciousness connected with wastes and recycling, the realization of the size of threats ( calculation how much litter the inhabitants of the country produce, the presentation of the data in the form of diagrams) - perceiving by the children the advantages of recycling ( they students were counting how many trees and how much water they could save if the used the textbooks from older colleagues or if they recycled paper ) - encouraging the students to activities serving the protection of the natural environment ( recycling of paper , segregation of litter, taking care of the cleanness of the environment) Both works and materials done by the students were placed on the school bulletin.

  9. In November, according to Socrates Comenius programme, four events took place in school in Borkowo. First of them was an ecological contest, in which students were told to think about slogans against dropping litters. Students created many wonderful slogans, rhymes and poems and the effects of their work can be seen in our school – every work was hung on the school board papers on the hall walls. The tutor of this contest was our Polish teacher.

  10. The second one was a literary contest for pupils from fourth, fifth and sixth classes. Students wrote essays, diaries and letters. They were writing about recycling. They works were gathered into a book and presented to whole school society. Some of these works were hung on the school board paper.

  11. The third was carried about at the end of the month. It was an artistic contest and students from our school, divided into two groups (children from 0 – III classes were in the first group, and pupils from IV – VI classes were in the second one)created posters encouraging people to fight with pollution on our planet and help the environment. The best posters were shown on the board paper on the hall.

  12. The last attraction in November were lotteries for younger classes. Pupils took part in many competitions, which were checking their knowledge of basic slogans connected with recycling, taught them how to recycle litters and other rubbish, also showed them how important is their role in saving our planet. They enjoyed these lotteries and were very interested in these subjects.

  13. All the contests, in spite of giving a lot of fun for everyone, taught the pupils and their parents, who were encouraging children in their work a lot about ecology and the ways of protecting natural environment. A big group of students took part in every competition and the presentation of each of them appeared on the webside of the school. "Akacjowa 2  80-180 Borkowo   woj. pomorskie  tel.
