GOD ALONE CAN FORGIVE. God Alone Can Forgive. Luke 5:21 “And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this which speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?” Christ had healed a man by saying: Luke 5:20 “…Man, thy sins are forgiven thee.”.

  2. God Alone Can Forgive Luke 5:21 “And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this which speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?” Christ had healed a man by saying: Luke 5:20 “…Man, thy sins are forgiven thee.”

  3. God Alone Can Forgive Where does forgiveness take place? Think of where forgiveness takes place on our part.

  4. God Alone Can Forgive • God Is A Forgiving God He did not drive Adam & Eve from the garden without hope. Gen. 3:15 “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.”

God Alone Can Forgive • God Is A Forgiving God God so describes Himself Ex. 34:6-7 “And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin…”

  6. God Alone Can Forgive • God Is A Forgiving God God give complete cleansing Isa. 1:18 “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”

  7. God Alone Can Forgive • God Is A Forgiving God God blots out sins Isa. 43:25 “I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.”

  8. God Alone Can Forgive • God Is A Forgiving God Forgiveness is complete under N.T. Law Heb. 8:12 “For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.”

For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.”

  20. God Alone Can Forgive III. God Is Impartial He has declared all under sin Rom. 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”

  21. God Alone Can Forgive III. God Is Impartial Same matters of judgment Rom. 14:11-12 “For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.”

God Is Impartial Same matters of judgment Rev. 20:12 “And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.”

  23. God Alone Can Forgive Since God Only can forgive sins, Why not come to Him today, and receive the forgiveness He stands ready to give? For Him to Forgive, we must obey.

  24. God Alone Can Forgive To obey the gospel of Christ, one must: • Hear – Rom 10:16 • Believe – Heb 11:6 • Repent – Luke 13:3 • Confess – Acts 8:36-37 • Be Baptized – Acts 2:38 • Remain Faithful – Rev 2:10
