  2. Types of Used Promotions to Attract Fans • Give a ways (Foam fingers, game balls, shirts, etc….) • Opening Acts • “Celebrity” signings or meet n greets

Terms • Target Audience: Describes particular segment as being the most appropriate for a certain campaign (based on demographics usually) • Promotional Items: special things used in combination with a campaign to attract customers • Forecasting: prediction of upcoming results based on evaluation of data

  4. Goals of using Promotions: • Cause people to attend events who otherwise might not • Encourage sell out crowds/high attendance • Increase interest in sport/group/music/show

  5. Downside to Promotions • Expensive • $$ Spent on fans would who attend event anyway • Constant search of high appeal low cost items • Promotions tend to lose their appeal over time
