  2. Confederation of Unions for Professional and Managerial Staff (Akava) Training “There are no special training program covering international issues. Instead there are some independent courses and opportunities: • Half a year trainee period in FinUnions office in Brussels • Individual seminars covering international issues • Language courses”

Confederation of Unions for Professional and Managerial Staff (Akava) Opportunities to ETUI The Finnish trade unions are interested: • Trade union English • EWC (European Works Council) activity at union level eg. one week’s introductory course on “How to monitor and influence the EU decision making process”. The course could consist of visit to various EU institutions and unions at inter European level.

  4. Finnish Confederation of Professionals (STTK) Training “The unions are hardly offering training on European level trade union activity. Some unions mentioned that international perspective in completely missing” • Employer allowed time for training too limited • Industrial Unions’ Co-operation Working Party offers • EWC seminar twice yearly • Company EWC training: employer, employees, union • Courses for union employees on current issues

  5. Finnish Confederation of Professionals (STTK) Opportunities to ETUI Requirements vary: • Training material on current issues e.g. preparation of Working Time Directive • Material on globalissues • on-line, powerpoint, video etc. In English
