Saint Louis University School of Medicine Residency Training Programs Internal Review Process Distribute Internal Review Schedule: This schedule, published and distributed in August, indicates the dates that PIFs are due to GME Office, and date the Review Team report is due to the GMEC.* • Send Formal Notification Letter: • Programs and Review Teams receive formal notification • of Internal Review from the Review Coordinator: • Program Directors asked to complete PIFs and Internal • Review General Competency Checklist • Review Teams are notified of review • 3 months in advance of due date to GMEC

PIFs Sent to Review Team: • PIFs sent to Review Team two months prior to GMEC due date. • Materials to be reviewed by Review Team include: • PIFs • All ACGME Correspondence • Last Internal Review Report and Associated Correspondence • Program and Institutional Requirements • Program Documents (see checklist) • Other Materials as Appropriate (e.g. Board Requirements)

  10. Program Review: Review Team will meet with faculty and residents, review all materials and complete report. GME Review Coordinator will arrange meetings for the Review Team. Draft IR Report : GME Review Coordinator sends draft report to Review Team and Program Director for review and comment. Present IR Report: Final IR Report presented to GMEC by Review Team Leader and Program Director.

  11. Send Follow-Up Letter: GMEC Chairman sends follow up letter outlining areas need to be strengthened and requesting progress report. Review Follow-Up Report: Follow up report is presented to GMEC.
