The Assignment • Our assignment was “Landscapes” • Seascapes, Cityscapes • Mountains, Canyons • Rivers, Lakes, Waterfalls • Fields, Vineyards • Deserts, Sand Dunes, etc • Any of the above or in combination The Complete Photographer!
With Landscapes… • A thorough knowledge of the basics of photography is essential • Composition • Rule of Thirds, Leading lines, balance, etc. • Classical foreground, mid-ground, and background elements • Exposure • Aperture, shutter speed, focus • Avoiding Over / Under Exposure • Lighting • Warm light at sunrise and sunset The Complete Photographer!
Making Pictures….. • To move from “taking” pictures to “making” pictures, you’ll need to add: • “Creative Composition” • Different perspectives • Finding the optimum shooting position • Careful alignments, subject placement • Frame-within-a-frame • Exclude extraneous stuff • Optional lenses for special effects • Ultra-Wide Angle • Highly Specialized: Fisheye, Tilt-Shift The Complete Photographer!
