Kiwanis Clubs Are Needed Today in Every Community • Absent parents • Both parents working • More single parents • Working longer hours • Divorce rates are approaching 50% • School funding is declining • National • State • Local • Youth issues: • Gangs & violence • Drugs & alcohol • Teenage pregnancy • School Dropouts
What Must We Do? Each Division: • 5 Year New Club Building Plan • Provide a Trained New Club Builder • Build 1-5 clubs every 5 years Each Sponsor Club • Provide 6-7 recruiters • Provide club counselor • Interclubs & guidance
The New Club Building Team Division Sponsor Club
Role of Sponsor Clubs • Provide a committee of 6-7 recruiters • Help compile a prospect list • Provide PR and recruiting support • Conduct of site survey 2–3 days • No cost for charter, gong, gavel or banner • Interclub and help host 3 organizational meetings • Assist Club Counselor & Lt Gov. • Monitor and guide new club for a year

Conduct Site Survey New Club Builder: • Develop questions for survey • Develop & assign contact lists to teams • Teams schedule and conduct visits • Ask for and collect referrals • Seek partner organizations
Conduct Recruiting New Club Builder: • Arranges location for Pre-organizational meetings • Develops prospect list • Develops PR • Mails invitation letter TeamLeaders: • Contact prospects by phone • Seek referrals • Conduct short follow-up visit • Send reminders by e-mail—asking they bring a guest
Make Sure Recruiting & Club Leaders Attend Charter Banquet Fundamentals: • Lt Governor invites Governor & appoints committee • No cost for charter, gavel, bell, & banner • Celebrate your legacy and new friends • Governor presents: • Charter • Charter pins to members • Recognition for recruiters & builders • Sponsor club • Silent Auction
