  2. Preparation • Devise thoughtful questions that utilize higher ordered thinking skills. • Annotate your novel so can easily refer back to textual evidence in your discussion. • Think about questions others might have and think about how you will respond.

  3. Expectations • Discussion versus debate • Grow from and build off each others ideas rather than presenting arguments and rebuttals. • Inquiry versus information • Community of Learners

  4. Procedures • You will submit questions in writing before the test. • I will draw a topic or question to begin our inquiry. • Your discussion will build off each others’ thoughts. • If there is a lull in discussion or the topic seems exhausted, I will draw another question.
