  2. Phantom of the Opera? The illusion that a limb still exists after it has been amputated.

  3. Ahh OK, so how does it effect person? • PHYSICALLY • PSYCHOLOGICALY • SOCIALY

  4. PHYSICALITY • The physical aspect is the most immediate challenge that presents itself for the victim. • Getting accustomed to life with a missing limb such as an arm or a leg, can make daily life difficult. • For example, if you lose your leg, the most simplest of tasks such as walking up the stairs becomes a struggle .

  5. PSYCHOLOGICALLY • Coping with the lost sensation of the limb • Coping with the lost function of a limb • Your altered body image and how you perceive yourself and how others perceive you.

  6. SOCIALLY • Communication: A person can lose or partly lose the ability to communicate using body language. • Simple gestures such as saying hello or waving goodbye becomes an issue.
