The mission also included a visit to POTI and KULEVI ports with the aim to discuss their need for training (VTS) and to prepare the identification of best practice port in ISPS implementation. April 10-14, 2010 Visit of Mr.Ib MATTHIESEN - activity 4.1 on ships inspections and PSC, Project Missions
Project Progress • Steering Committe was set up - Capt. Imnaishvili attended SASEPOL Steering Committee meeting in Brussells on December 18, 2009 • National Working Group members have been identified and proposed • Regional Working Group members have been identified and proposed
Project Progress • Training was held in Odessa -three persons from Maritime Administration participated in OPRS level training held in Odessa in May, 2010 • Georgian Lawyer started implementation of ACTIVITY 1.2 -status of implementation of the IMO instruments and ACTIVITY 1.3 “Discuss and plan accession to the “Voluntary IMO Member State Audit Scheme – VIMSAS”. • Agreement was reached with Maritime Department to participate in VIMSAS. This is step forward in this direction.
Project Concerns • Issues regarding Working Group; • Postponed trainings; • Postponed Regional Working Group meeting. • Working on VIMSAS issue started in February still not completed
